I really need to say something….

…………..about Matteo’s parents.

These people are wonderful, generous, awesome………..and I’m so glad we got to spend a little time with them…Fun, funny, and so down to earth…… I can’t wait to get to Italy and spend HOPEFULLY a whole week in their world. I can’t wait to introduce Nick to the FOOD too!!!

During Matteo’s stay with us, we were able to Skype with his family back home. So warm and wonderful. His Nonna cracked me up…..I FED HIM WELL AND TOOK GOOD CARE OF HIM !! Didn’t I?? I know how precious grandchildren are….and I hope I took good care of her grandson. When I get to Italy, I’ll be asking her that….*smiles*

We “shared” part of their Christmas Dinner with them via Skype. It was so neat to see the table laden with what I already knew would be awesome tasting food!!!  Everyone was smiling and waving………..we felt a part of it. They always asked how Nick was and were as concerned about him as Matteo was.

They were able to come over for a visit toward the end of Matteo’s stay. Silvia and Maurizo came laden with gifts….(the good ones…which means REAL ITALIAN FOOD!!!) I had their box of Christmas presents we never got sent over with Nick being ill…

They immediately were part of our family too. It was as hard to say goodbye to them at the end of their visit as I knew it would be when Matteo left.

They have a son who means the world to me. They will always hold a special place in my heart.

Much love goes to them always.

  1. It is amazing the way we can reach out across the world and be a part of someone else’s wonderful family. So many people wish to hide away and not do things like this. I do hope you get to visit with them, what an experience that will be!
